Natural, ocassional appetite suppressant?
Posted by admin on Mar-11-2010
My appetite varies drastically. Some days I can get by on just fruits and nuts for breakfast, other days I get truly famished.
Does this have to do with hormones?
How can I safely suppress my appetite during days or weeks when it may be unnecessarily large?
I am thinking in terms of alternative medicine, herbs, etc..
Drink a lot of water.
Also, take a fiber supplement at breakfast with your fruit and nuts. It will help you stay full longer.
Also, drink a lot of green tea. It’s a natural appetite suppressor, as well it helps boost your metabolism.
Hoodia doesn’t work with most people. If you wanted to take a supplement, I would Slimaluma Plus by NOW Foods. It works better than Hoodia.

Drink a big glass of water or eat an apple before meals when you think you might overeat.
Instead of eating 3 big meals, eat 5 small meals during the day and make sure you are eating plenty of fruits and veggies.

I’ve always been told to drink water. I’ve heard that your body can sometimes mistake for being hungry when in fact it’s just in need of fluids. I could be wrong.

Protein is definately a good one. Nuts such as peanuts, walnuts, etc. Don’t eat too much, though. Nuts will cause constipation if overconsumed.

Make sure that you are drinking enough water. Studies have shown that about ½ of the time we think we are hungry, we are actually thirsty. When you are hungry, try drinking a 16 oz. glass of water. If after 15-20 minutes later you are still hungry, then go ahead and eat something sensible. Most people are surprized how often they are no longer hungry. It is definitely safe! Try it out for a week.
As a bonus, the water will increase your metabolism for 3-4 hours.
